Part of healthy natural living is making the most of the natural ingredients that are available to us these days. Some great products for the skin include shea butter, coconut oil, and cacao butter. I've had nothing but positivity from my friends who have used this lovely, soothing belly butter! I often make a double batch so that mums-to-be have lots and lots of belly butter to enjoy. It has a sweet, chocolaty aroma with just the right amount of essential oil sparkle.
Belly Butter (Single Batch)
1/2 cup unrefined coconut oil
1/4 cup shea butter
1/4 cup cacao butter
5 drops dōTERRA Sandalwood essential oil
3 drops dōTERRA Patchouli essential oil
3 drops dōTERRA Lavender essential oil
1. Melt first three ingredients over a low heat
2. Mix and allow to cool slightly
3. Stir in the essential oils
4. Cool mixture
Directions for use
Apply generously over the belly, thighs, back, buttocks, and breasts, to help ease irritation and support elastic skin. It feels a little hard at first, but is melts SO quickly with the body heat!
*If you like, I have found that you can add beeswax instead of the shea butter, and it has a wonderfully soothing effect as well!
